Rubí was Sophie Aurélie’s first interior design project. The client, aware of her background as a set decorator in the film industry, sought someone with a creative touch to transform a run-down old bar into something special. Inspired by the client’s love for 50’s retro tropical art, Sophie Aurélie crafted a design that embodied the era’s vibrant spirit. The centerpiece of the space was a stunning bar made from Brazilian wood, featuring hidden compartments for efficient alcohol storage and ample space for the bartenders. The overall concept was playful and sensual, with a nod to Carmen Miranda’s iconic pineapple headdress riding a banana, making the space an instant success. The transformation of the original space was a delightful surprise.
